However, I suggested a visit to the Billabong Sanctuary instead, as it offers a chance to get up close and personal with these animals in a safe and controlled environment. They were delighted with this suggestion and we made our way to the sanctuary. We spent the day exploring the park and even got to feed kangaroos and hold a baby crocodile! The tourists left feeling satisfied that they had experienced an authentic Australian outback adventure without having to venture too far from Townsville.
